Join the team as a Nurse Educator Labor and Delivery, a pivotal clinical educator who advances perinatal excellence by assessing staff learning needs, designing and delivering evidence-based education, and driving quality and patient safety across the obstetric service line. Daily responsibilities include coordinating L&D nurse orientation and competency validation; facilitating simulation-based drills for obstetric and neonatal emergencies (postpartum hemorrhage, eclampsia, shoulder dystocia, cesarean readiness, neonatal resuscitation); coaching bedside practice in fetal heart monitoring interpretation, triage, induction/augmentation, and documentation; updating unit policies to align with AWHONN standards and perinatal safety bundles; collaborating with OB/GYNs, midwives, anesthesia, pediatrics/NICU, and lactation teams; auditing outcomes and EHR compliance to support quality improvement; maintaining staff certifications (BLS, NRP, FHM), precepting new hires and travelers, and curating patient education resources. This L&D Nurse Educator role blends hands-on mentoring with data-driven education to elevate maternal-newborn outcomes, strengthen interprofessional teamwork, and ensure a high-reliability, family-centered Labor and Delivery environment.
